No, I'm well aware of it but am an agnostic on metaphysics instead of having one of the available ontologies as a default belief. There are too many confusions right now for anyone to confidently state a "position" imo. I want to press harder on physicalism though. Note the graveyard of ontologies problem. Ether is gone. Subatomic particles are in with behaviors that violate expectations of physics from Newton through Einstein (i.e. Quantum) and a Standard Model that has still not yielded work that would reconcile QM and Relativity OR provided a successful successor theory to both.

Also, I don't say physics invented dark matter to save the gravity math. That's one possibility. The other is something or other is being detected, but not very clearly and physicalist's greedily subsume it under the category "matter" even before knowing IF it is a) a measure of ignorance (gravity math) or b) some sort of "real" that we cannot describe or understand.

Well, I don't follow or know all that much about IIT except a few general things. It is the backlash against it that strikes me as conspicuous and worth tracking, not so much IIT itself based on what I know. For all I know IIT is on to something, but I've not read much in that area. -- My agnosticism , further , is of the weak variety. I'm not like Rorty who goes from "We don't HAVE a mirror of nature" to "Such a mirror is simply impossible" (i.e.l there is no "final vocabulary"). Here's the paradox for the anti-realist-- HOW WOULD RORTY OR ANYONE ELSE KNOW THERE IS NO AND CAN BE NO MIRROR OF NATURE? DID THEY TRY ALL POSSIBLE MIRRORS OUT, THEN COMPARE THEM TO REALITY "IN-ITSELF" AND AFTER COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW FIND THAT EACH AND EVERY CASE (THE UNIVERSAL CLAIM) WAS A MISMATCH? IF SO, THEY WOULD PARADOXICALLY HAVE JUST THE MIRROR THEY NEGATE. THE NEGATION IN ANY DEFINITIVE SENSE WOULD REQUIRE THAT MIRROR.
